The 2nd Large Model Safety Workshop (LMSW 2025), hosted by Professor Jun

Sun of Singapore Management University, successfully concluded on April 23,

2025, at the Grand Ballroom of JW Marriott South Beach, Singapore.

This workshop stands out as one of the few high-level international summits in Asia

dedicated to large model safety. It attracted over 250 participants from academia,

industry, and government agencies worldwide, gathering in Singapore.

Attendees included leading scholars, industry experts, and government representatives from countries and regions such as China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Singapore. Together, they explored cutting-edge challenges, solutions, and future directions concerning the safety, ethics, and compliance of large models and AI agents.

The workshop featured nine distinguished speakers from world-renowned

universities and research institutions, including Stanford University, the University of Montreal, the University of California, Berkeley, CISPA, and EPFL. Among them were Turing Award laureate Professor Yoshua Bengio, von Neumann Award recipient Professor Christopher Manning, and Professor Dawn Song, widely recognized as the “Godmother of Computer Security.”

In addition, the workshop featured a panel discussion with six esteemed experts from both academia and industry, focusing on the safety and reliability of large models in real-world applications.

Panelists offered diverse perspectives, exploring how to establish effective

coordination and complementary mechanisms between technological development,risk governance, and practical deployment. Their insights contributed valuable ideas for bridging the gap between AI safety research and industry practice.

The session attracted a full house and sparked lively discussions, reflecting the global community’s strong interest in large model safety and responsible technology.
